June, 2010
The Evergeen Cultural Centre will present “Tools for Cutting”, Josh Beamish’s 2010 creation for four male dancers, in a mixed bill with the new version of “Trap Door Party” specifically created for WORLD EXPO 2010 in Shanghai, China. For those who missed its February debut at the Chutzpah Festival, Evergreen presents an opportunity to see MOVE: the company’s four powerful male dancers tackle snowboards, hockey sticks and their personal conflicts with masculine identity. The evening will also present Lower Mainland audiences with the only opportunity to see a new batch of performers take on Beamish’s challenging signature work. Jeannie Vandekerkhove, Kevin Tookey and Matthew Waldie will join returning cast members Heather Dotto, Jacqui Lopez and Beamish himself, in what promises to be a thrilling combination of a new classic and an old favourite.
