MOVE: the company presents in a glimpse into the early stages of creation for Joshua Beamish's new full-length work, Pierced. We are excited to announce that Joshua is in production on his first evening length work since Sold Doubt in 2009, with a full premiere set for 2013. To give our audiences and supporters insight into Joshua's current creative direction, we are previewing various excerpts from the work created to date at Vancouver's Dancing on the Edge Festival on July 8th and 9th, 2012 at the Firehall Arts Centre. Excerpts will include performances by Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Vancouver's Delphine Leroux, New York's Joshua Green and Beamish himself. The work will be shown in simple dance attire without sets, props and projections. The lighting design will be incomplete and there will be no transitions between sequences. Our goal is to place focus solely on the direction of Beamish's movement invention for this work, as a means of inspiring support for the production of the finished product, which will also include performances by principal dancers from New York City Ballet and Seattle's Pacific Northwest Ballet.
