MOVE: the company announces its 2012 Summer Intensive: July 9th-21st, 2012
We are pleased to announce our 2012 Summer Intensive. Our program will focus on immersing young dancers in the MOVE: the company environment and will maintain a dual focus on technical proficiency and creative innovation. Dancers will participate in ballet, contemporary and improvisation technique classes followed by intensive repertory sessions. Dancers will also participate in the creation of new works by Artistic Director, Joshua Beamish and Principal Dancer, Heather Dotto. The intensive will conclude with an exciting final presentation of the works explored on the evening of Saturday, July 21st at the Faris Theatre located within the Scotiabank Dance Centre.
Our 2011 Intensive was a huge success and provided participants with the opportunity to learn excerpts from Joshua Beamish’s works for MOVE: the company, Ballet Jorgen, the University of Missouri and the School of American Ballet (New York City Ballet).
This year are excited to announce a faculty comprised entirely of returning dance educators. Joshua Beamish will be returning from New York, where he is now based and is currently creating a new full-length ballet featuring New York City Ballet principals, Wendy Whelan & Robert Fairchild.

Cost of the 2012 Intensive is $784 for two weeks however students can choose to participate in just one week for $476 or drop-ins at $25 per class. All prices are inclusive of HST. Summer Intensive participants will also be offered the opportunity to participate in group outings at the Dancing on the Edge Festival, to be held in Vancouver during our intensive.
