Interpretive Artist
David has been dancing since kindergarten. His earlier years in Penticton were spent learning Tap and Jazz. At 18 he decided to pursue dance to Vancouver where he started training with The Source to further his commercial dance abilities. In the same time he formed a collective with four other dancers with backgrounds in popping, locking,,breakin and freestyle called Over The Influence. he began to research and develop his own physical codes. Blessed with opportunities to teach his work, he led classes domestically and abroad as he continued to further study in disciplines such as improvisation, hip hop and ballet. David met Tiffany Tregarthen during this period and the two began collaborating in their work. In 2005 they moved to Antwerp to research and further develop their craft. After two years of studio and film exploration along with instructing workshops in different places across Europe, David returned to Canada where he and his colleague founded Modus Operandi, a dance program that administers their research in professional training to aspiring dancers. In March 2008, David and Tiffany danced and debuted their first professional work together as Out Innerspace Dance Theatre and are continuing on developing new choreographic and film works. As a performer David's recent involvements have been with, Wen Wei Dance, Move The Company, Shay Kuebler and Amber Funk-Barton, Response Dance, Simone Orlando and Out Innerspace.
